The Bird Club Hut is the start of a journey initiated more than 40 years ago when I first found my passion for birds.
This is a club and therefore is an exclusive area for bird lovers, nerds, or collectors, to enjoy and take advantage of all the information in it and also some assets for their birding or simple bird watching.
Enjoy it and comment on it so we can learn and improve.
MY REASONS
I was born in a hunter’s family and I grew up loving the outdoors and the thrill of hunting.
This love for hunting, on my part, was more directed to the gatherings, the stories, the food, or the amazing hours spent in the forest, plain or swamp.
I had a license for hunting for 3 months and that was it, my passion was somewhere else, I could feel it.
I used the knowledge acquired through personal experience and learned with friends and family about the great outdoors to then expand to my new passion, photography. Photographer by choice and working in the world of film I soon turned to a different kind of hunt, with a camera.
After a few years and with a private life evolving to a different path I became more of an illustrator and left camera gear aside.
Those years around nature, photographing, and filming always left some nostalgia inside me and although I was always involved at a distance I was eager to return so I decided to create BIRD CLUB HUT and, even if not totally back yet I could somehow share the knowledge and passion and be closer to birds, again.
WHO DOES THE BIRD CLUB HUT SERVE?
I created The Bird Club Hut to increase the recordings of video, sound, and photographs but also to help, support, inform, and guide everyone that loves birds, wants to know about them, or just loves to go for a walk in nature and needs some guidance on birds.
We promise to be as helpful as we possibly can. We are here for you and the birds.
Jumping into the woods sometimes, or most times needs planning and some degree of knowledge to have a fun day and not transform that stroll into a nightmare. Although most hiking areas are with some level of support we want to give some more on the bird watching level.
The world of birds has already some apps that help to spot birds and they are great, I used them myself, but if you want to take a step further in photography, video, or sound recording the app or your smartphone is not enough, in my opinion.
THE BIRD CLUB HUT WEBSITE PURPOSE
When my son was old enough to speak he loved to identify the birds, and he named them by image and by sound, at least the ones living in our neighborhood. That was an enormous starting kick for this website.
The website will gather the information that will help people that want to start watching birds, that want to go for a walk in nature and look for birds, and to record nature to share with us all. That is our purpose, recording.
